Samantha Errington

Managing Director and Independent Financial Adviser

At work

Strativa’s MD, known as “Sam” to her clients, has more than 30 years of experience as an independent financial adviser. With expertise across retirement planning, investments, Inheritance Tax, and more, Sam helps clients build financial plans that give them confidence today and for the future.

Sam has a natural knack for noticing how clients feel, even when they don’t say a word, and knows how to put them at ease. She enjoys explaining complex subjects in ways that feel clear and accessible, and loves seeing her clients’ plans come together and pay off.

One of her proudest moment was winning the Highest Qualified AFPC Adviser award, a recognition of her commitment to excellence.

Sam most enjoys working with clients who value family, are generous-spirited, and are open to ideas, helping them create security and confidence to live their best life.

At home

When she’s not advising clients, Sam is a self-confessed foodie who loves cooking at home and exploring great restaurants. She enjoys Pilates and anything that supports a nourishing, balanced lifestyle, and can often be found out and about in the New Forest walking her scruffy, lovable hound, Harry.

As a mum of two and a business owner, spare time is limited, but Sam makes sure to fit in her favourite comedy podcasts and keep up with current affairs, politics, health and the latest in science – she’s a bit of a nerd at heart!

Sam in the spotlight

On an ideal weekend, you can find me:

On a family dog walk, followed by a lavish roast and a glass of wine.

My favourite holiday destination is:

Majorca. Can get there in two hours, and be enjoying a cocktail and sunshine by lunchtime!

If I could be any fictional character, I would be:

Elizabeth Bennet.

If I could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, I would win a medal in:

Guessing the ending of TV programmes / films.

The three qualities that draw me to new people are:

  • Honesty.
  • Kindness.
  • Sense of humour.

The three people at my dream dinner party would be:

  • Elton John.
  • Jane Austen.
  • Angela Merkel.

The three small things that make my day better are:

  • A smile on my children’s faces.
  • A cuddle with the dog.
  • Being brought a coffee in bed in the morning.

Three things I haven’t done so far include:

  • Travel around India.
  • Learn another language, so as to be fluent.
  • Get the children to be really interested in cooking.

    Sam's dislikes:

  • Bad roast potatoes.
  • Being hurried and unorganised.
  • Speaking to people before 10 am!
  • Turkey at Christmas – well overrated!
  • The parents’ running race on sports day.
  • The wind and rain when trying to look smart.
